Linda Schrum, a dear friend and long-time inspirational Co-chair of the Carolinas Cash Adventure passed away in 2010. In honor of her worthy service and consummate leadership, the Board of Directors of the NCTMA and SCAFP have established a scholarship to attend the Carolinas Cash Adventure. The scholarship covers conference registration fee and 3 nights’ accommodations at the Embassy Suites at Kingston Plantation.
With business degrees from UNC-Charlotte and the Fuqua School at Duke University, Linda had a keen interest in finance and treasury management. Linda served on the Board of Directors of the NCTMA since she was President during the 1990 - 91 program year. She also served as the co-chairperson representing NCTMA for 15 years. It was her ardor for the organization that led her to be a long-standing leader of Carolinas Cash Adventure.
Throughout her distinguished career, at Belk Stores, GE Capital, Triventure Services and Drake Beam Morin, Linda’s concern for those experiencing the anguish of an employment transition became a mission. In addition to her professional service, Linda also invested countless hours in support of charitable and civic causes. Linda was prominent in her church, Mulberry Presbyterian in Charlotte, and also enjoyed travel and reading.
We encourage anyone who desires to attend Carolinas Cash Adventure, but may be financially unable to attend due to current unemployment, to apply for the Linda P. Schrum Memorial Carolinas Cash Adventure Scholarship. Preference will be given to current or former members of either the NCTMA or the SCAFP.
